Bodoni’s Manuel Typografico. By using smooth, hard-surfaced paper, rich black ink, and generous leading, Bodoni created layouts that were open, formal, and free of unnecessary decoration.

The Manuel Typografico was designed by Bodoni, but issued by his wife after his death in 1813.
