Project. Double-Page Spread

Purpose. This project serves as an introduction to publication design and to the many typographic decisions that must be made regarding text type, display type, heads, subheads, captions, folios, illustrations, and their placement on a grid. This project also puts into practice lessons learned from previous projects.

Assignment. For this project the instructor should assemble the necessary items listed above so that the students so they can be accessed on the computer. This will allow the students’ efforts to be focused on solving the design problems rather than on researching and gathering material for the project. This can be further enhanced by limiting the design to black and white to keep the focus on typography.

Format. 20 X 10 inches (50 X 25 centimeters)
